Don is a 2nd generation Realtor, following in his father's 'footsteps' into Real Estate. He lives, works, and plays in the communities that we service, and so he can provide the best service to your needs.

Don's background includes customer service, construction and land use planning and Development. His customer service background means he is focused on your needs and your interests. He finds success through having clients find success in their real estate transaction experience. His background in planning and development (both on the private and public side) means he can help guide you through the permit process - whether it be for a single family home, camp, small business or large project.

Don grew up in Northern Vermont, loving the outdoors. After college, he had an illustrious career as a professional ski instructor at Smugglers Notch Resort where he enjoyed sharing his love of the mountains and the sport with kids and adults. The off-season led to Don shifting roles to a year-round position in permitting and planning for the resort. This provided him a foundation of knowledge and experience in these areas that has extended into Don’s current career in Real Estate.

Don lives in Johnson and has two daughters. Life revolves around outdoor pursuits (snowsports and anything on, in and under the water) and ever an embrace of the mountain lifestyle. Don’s personal interests include: building and paddling wooden kayaks, live music, backcountry touring, maple sugaring and collecting interesting, shiny rocks.

Don has served on a number of municipal boards in area communities and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Smugglers Notch Ski and Board Club and the Jericho Community Development Corporation.

If closing on homes was anything like slaying a dragon, Don would be a knight. We began our quest at a local establishment, uncertain of the perils that lay ahead. We were weary of the hurdles that lay before us and found reassurance in Don. As he calmly sipped his hot brew and helped ensure that we were adequately prepared for the what lay ahead of us, we felt our hearts at ease. We scribed the woes of home ownership and debated the number of drawbridges appropriate for a single family home before even stepping foote in a potential dwelling. After Don guided us through the many realms surrounding the Kingdom of Jeffersonville, at last, we found the castle of our desires. Oh, how our hearts sang as we gazed upon the garage and open floor plan! Alas! It was already under the contract of another. We wept for our future, uncertain of what lay ahead, we considered having to leave our beloved ski town. With broken hearts we began to widen our Zillow search to a 25 mile radius. Suddenly, a messenger pigeon swooped in with a note, "Greetings Comrades, The property that you desired has unexpectedly come available once more. We must strike while the iron is hot and guarantee your right to the land! Make haste! -Sir Foote." Rejoice, Don's real-estate mastery shown as bright as the high sun. We would have been lost without him. With grace and ease, Don accommodated our every need, even while vacationing in distant lands with poor cell phone reception. Even at the final hours of our plight Don held fast to defend our honor. Gathering around the closing table Don's commitment never wavered.
