Colorado Blue Spruce Picea pungens glauca
Blue Spruce have a gorgeous gray-blue appearance. They are also known for their sharply pointed needles and strong branches for heavy ornaments. The needles can be a little too picky for little kids, but they may keep the cat away. Like all Christmas trees, they require a lot of fresh water. These trees are perfect if you like to hide gifts 'in' the tree.

Scotch, White, and Red Pine are traditional, long-needled trees favored by some folks. A soft appearance and the 'pine woods' scent are their attributes.

Fraser FirAbies fraseri
The Fraser Fir has good needle retention, is dark blue-green in color, and a nice scent. Very popular Christma tree choice. These pyramidal-shaped trees are very similar to a Balsam.

Balsam Abies balsamea
Pyramidal and stately shaped evergreen. Terrific scent and softer needles. Loved by cats, too.

Canaan Fir Abies balsamea var. phanerolepis
Canaan (pronounced Ka-non) is a newer Christmas tree favorite. First identified in the Canaan Valley in West Virginia, this tree is very similar to the Balsam and Fraser.

We have a nice variety of Fraser and Canaan Firs and White and Red Pine.

As always, keep your live Christmas tree well-watered to keep the needles from falling off, and to reduce the risk of it catching fire, especially if you have a wood stove.
